The LSI is a community of some 200 talented PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and principal investigators from around the world supported by excellent professional services staff. We collaborate to generate exciting discoveries and create new knowledge. Diversity is a major strength that enriches our science and our culture. As Director of Research and Impact (DoRI) at the LSI, I assist our research teams in producing high-quality, interdisciplinary publications, facilitate the submission of collaborative grant proposals, and work to maximise the institute's overall impact.
Professor Steven West
As Director of Postgraduate Research (DPGR) in the LSI, I oversee the education of our PhD students. This included the design of our PhD programme, which was done in collaboration with other group leaders and our current PhD students.
Professor Kirsty Wan
As Director of Global Engagement at LSI, I lead strategic initiatives to explore and foster international collaborations, establish new partnerships with other institutions, and enhance our institute’s overall visibility and international reputation.
Professor Nicholas Harmer
As one of the Co-Directors of Business Engagement and Innovation (Co-DoBEI), I work with colleagues in Exeter Innovation and academics to develop a culture of innovation in LSI/Biosciences. I encourage and support all our staff and students to consider commercialising their research and engage with industry, charities, and government agencies to maximise the impact of their research.
Associate Professor Benjamin Housden
