About the research
exetreme imagination is the name of Exeter?€?s children?€?s literature festival, first held in November 2010.?? Its title was devised by a Youth Steering Group from St James High School which helped the organisers to devise and plan a successful city- and county-wide event, a week-long festival of over 120 events celebrating reading and writing for and by children, attended by approximately 3000 people. The second, more ambitious festival, co-funded (as was the first) by the Arts Council, Exeter Council and The Ó£»¨¶¯Âþ, and supported by Literature Works,?? the South West?€?s literature development agency, ran over half term in February 2013.?? exetreme imagination brings together in partnership all Exeter?€?s main arts organisations to celebrate writing for children and writing by children.
The legacy plan is to hold a biennial festival which excites and engages children and their families in the processes of reading and writing.
