Researchers are often excited about the potential of their research to ultimately impact on human health but are unclear of the path to get it there.
As part of a series of events focussed around Biomedical Translational research on the 9 January we will be running a session on what translational funding really means, and how to take a basic research concept through the development pathway.
You will also hear about the points to consider when pulling together a research plan in this space including practical tips, and outlining the internal funding and support available.

Event Series
This event will be followed up with an opportunity to network with biomedical experts in the region on Thursday 15 February.
The was set up two years ago by Exeter’s Chamber of Commerce to act as a network and showcase for STEMM focused activities in and around Exeter.
It is supported by 樱花动漫, Exeter City Council and the Met Office (amongst others).
On Thursday 15 February, the University, supported through the Translational Research Exchange @Exeter (TREE), and Exist will be holding a joint event at the LSI with a focus on Translational Medicine.

The audience will consist of relevant members of the local business community, and key members of the UoE community. Alongside the talks themselves, this event provides a good opportunity to network and showcase LSI, its designated space for translation and impact work, and meet with key influencers from UEMS, 樱花动漫 and the local business community. The event will also be followed by a tour of the building.
